Maharashtra Monsoon: Monsoon set to arrive in Mumbai soon; rainfall alert issued—check weather updates on the IMD map.

Mumbai: People in Mumbai are exhausted by the scorching heat and humidity, but the good news is that the monsoon is about to arrive in the city soon. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon has already reached several parts of Maharashtra, and significant rainfall is likely to begin in Mumbai as well over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rainfall alert for several areas, including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Pune. Thunderstorms, strong winds (40-50 km/h), and heavy rain are likely to happen over the next 2-3 days. It is worth telling that some areas of Mumbai have received pre-monsoon rainfall activity and it’s continuing.

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon could arrive in Mumbai around 11th to 13th of June. Although the normal date for the monsoon’s arrival in Mumbai is June 11, some fluctuations in the timing are being observed this year. It is worth noting that the southwest monsoon is now move forward rapidly across many parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has already been arrived on June 8, 2026, in the west-central and east-central parts of the Arabian Sea, as well as in some areas of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Heavy rainfall is likely to happen in the coastal areas of South India this week.

As for today’s weather, several areas of Mumbai will remain partly cloudy on June 9. There is a possibility of light rain or drizzle in some areas. The temperature is likely to range between 27°C and 33°C. Meanwhile, Mumbai may experience light to moderate rain, with heavy rains in some places, over the next 2-3 days. In such a situation, the rain is expected to reduce humidity and provide relief from the heat.
