Bank unions call for nationwide strike on Sept 11, demand 5-day banking

NEW DELHI: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has announced a nationwide strike on September 11 over the delay in implementing five-day banking, differences on the performance-linked incentive scheme and several pending demands, including pension-related issues.

If the strike goes ahead, banking services, particularly in public sector banks, are likely to be affected across the country. September 11 falls on a Friday, followed by two bank holidays, potentially disrupting services for four days in many areas.
