Heavy Rains Batter Poonch, Schools Closed Across District

MENDHAR/JAMMU: All schools in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district were ordered to remain closed on Tuesday amid heavy rainfall and swelling rivers and nallahs, officials said.

The closure was announced through a notice issued by the Chief Education Officer as a precautionary measure.

Officials said the situation across the district was being closely monitored in view of the prevailing weather conditions.
