Nepal Flash Floods: Death Toll Nears 1,000 amid Fresh Body Recoveries

KATHMANDU: The death toll from Nepal’s devastating flash floods rose to 987 on Tuesday as security forces recovered more bodies from affected areas, officials said.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority said 3,916 people, including 583 foreigners, remain unaccounted for as search and rescue operations continue. Chitwan reported 321 recovered bodies, followed by Nawalparasi East (216), Nawalparasi West (170) and Nuwakot (95).
