Wangchuk’s Fast Crosses 20 Days; Says He Is Determined to Stay Alive Till July 20
NEW DELHI: Educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk on Friday said he would “stay alive till July 20 at any cost” as his indefinite hunger strike entered its 20th day, despite doctors warning that his prolonged fast has reached a critical stage.
Speaking at the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar, which entered its 28th day over alleged examination irregularities, Wangchuk urged supporters to ensure a massive turnout for the party’s proposed Parliament march on July 20. Acknowledging his deteriorating health, he said his determination to continue the protest remained unwavering.
