‘Modi Is the Past, Students Are the Future’: Rahul Gandhi’s Sharp Attack
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday backed protesting students demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s removal, asserting that their demand is “non-negotiable” and dismissing speculation about shifting the minister to another portfolio. After meeting students, including an injured protester, at his residence, Gandhi said Pradhan must be sacked, alleging he was “corrupt, incompetent and misaligned.”
Calling students the future of India, Gandhi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi represented the past and “the past can never fight the future.” He also assured protesters that no pressure from the Centre would force them to vacate Jantar Mantar, where demonstrations over the NEET paper leak and examination reforms continue under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
