Bhubaneswar Horror: Three Killed, Three Injured as Car Mows Down Pedestrians After Crashing Into Multiple Vehicles

Bhubaneswar: At least three people were killed and three others sustained serious injuries after a speeding electric vehicle (EV) ploughed into pedestrians following a series of collisions with multiple vehicles in Bhubaneswar on Monday night, police said.

The accident occurred in the Gajapati Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Maitree Vihar Police Station on the busy stretch connecting Acharya Vihar and Nalco Square. According to officials, the car was travelling at high speed when it first crashed into several two-wheelers and an auto-rickshaw on the road. After hitting the vehicles, the EV reportedly lost control and rammed into a group of people who were having tea at a roadside stall. The impact left three persons dead on the spot, while three others suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police reached the scene soon after the incident and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. The damaged vehicles were removed from the road, and efforts are underway to ascertain whether over speeding, driver negligence, or any other factor led to the tragic mishap.
