Congress Alleges Modi Govt’s Policies Pushing Country towards Economic Crisis

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Wednesday alleged that India is steadily heading towards an economic crisis, citing the rise in wholesale price inflation to 9.87 per cent in June, and blamed the Modi government’s “anti-people policies” for the situation.

The opposition party demanded answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the rising inflation, saying he must take responsibility for the “economic failure”. In a post on social media, Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary, claimed the party had repeatedly warned the government in recent months that its policies were pushing the country towards an economic crisis.
