Kumkum Bhagya Fame Sanchita Ugale Passes Away at 22; Police Launch Probe

Television and film actor Sanchita Ugale, known for her roles in popular television shows including Kumkum Bhagya, died by suicide at her residence in Mumbai’s Nalasopara area, police officials confirmed on Monday. She was 22. The incident reportedly took place on the evening of June 14 at the Sai Santoshi Building in Achole Village, Nalasopara East.

According to police, Ugale was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom. Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Bagh of the Achole Police Station said the actor had locked her room from the inside before allegedly taking the extreme step. Family members discovered her and immediately rushed her to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation Hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Following a complaint lodged by her father, Machhindra Ugale, the Achole Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15.

Police said an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the actor’s death. Officials have not yet determined the reason behind the incident and are examining all aspects of the case. Ugale had been gaining recognition in the television industry through her performances in popular serials. Her untimely death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment fraternity and among her fans.
