I-Day Address: PM Modi Calls for India to Become Global Defence Manufacturing Hub
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for making India a global hub for defence manufacturing, stressing self-reliance in advanced capabilities such as hypersonic technology and drone systems.
In his Independence Day address from the Red Fort, Modi highlighted external and internal security challenges and announced plans to develop a comprehensive network of civil defence personnel. He also said work on the indigenous Sudarshan Chakra air defence system is progressing rapidly.
