Shame again in the capital, young woman gang-raped in parlor on pretext of job offer! Owner and employee arrested
Bhubaneswar: Another gang rape incident has come to light in the capital. A young woman has been accused of gang rape on the pretext of providing her with a job. The incident took place at a parlour located in Jagmara under Khandagiri police station. The parlour owner and an employee have been arrested in this incident by Khandagiri police on Tuesday. The two accused arrested are Ravindra Mohanty, the owner of the parlour, residing in the Kolathia area of Bharatpur police station, and Santosh Barik, an employee of the parlour, of Ragdipada, Badamba police station, Cuttack district.
Two accused were produced in the court. Later, after being denied bail, they were sent to judicial custody. The police team is continuing the investigation with the help of the scientific team. The police team has collected evidence from the parlour. After examining the CCTV footage, a lot of objectionable items have been seized from the parlour. The police have also sealed the said parlour. The police have registered a case of gang rape based on the complaint of the young woman. The victim’s medical examination has been conducted and her statement has been recorded. Police are continuing further investigation to see if anyone else is involved in this incident.
