The monsoon will drench entire Odisha in Raja festival, monsoon to reach Odisha in next 4 to 5 days
Bhubaneswar: As the pre-monsoon rains have started in the state, the entire Odisha will be drenched in monsoon rains by the time of Raja. The weather is favourable in the state and monsoon will reach Odisha in the next 4 to 5 days as Manorma Mohanty, Director of the Regional Meteorological Center informed. There will be no change in the daily temperature for the next 3 days. But due to the rain of Kala Baisakhi, there will be relief from the heat after 3 days. With the sun shining in the morning and rain in the afternoon, a yellow warning of the possibility of rain accompanied by lightning, thunder and wind gusts of 40 to 50 kmph has been issued for the next 24 hours across the state including 30 districts. The Meteorological Department has informed that such weather will be seen till the 15th of next month. Monsoon is likely to touch all parts of the state by June 20.
The weather forecast department has said that the weather is favourable for the further advance of the monsoon. Within 4-5 days, the monsoon will enter some parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu and some parts of Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha. There is a possibility of violent thunderstorm in the state every day, and the rainfall may increase from 11th of June. According to meteorologist Dr. Sarat Chandra Sahu, the weather may change significantly from the 12th, and the monsoon may reach Odisha between the 14th and 17th.
