Strong earthquake in the Philippines: Intensity 7.7 on the Richter scale

Mindanao: A strong earthquake has struck the Philippine island of Mindanao. The earth shook three times in just one hour since early Monday morning. The intensity of this earthquake is 7.7 magnitude on the Richter scale. As a result, a tsunami warning has been issued for parts of the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The epicentre of the earthquake was located in Polomolok, 70 km from the Philippines. According to the National Centre for Seismology in South Cotabato, the Philippines experienced three earthquakes within an hour. The first earthquake occurred at 5:07 AM and measured 7.7 on the Richter scale. The second earthquake occurred at 5:18 AM and measured 6.4 on the Richter scale. The third earthquake occurred at 6:25 am and measured 6.6 on the Richter scale. According to Al Jazeera reports, Japan has issued a tsunami warning for parts of its Pacific coast following a massive earthquake in the Philippines. The Meteorological Agency has predicted that waves could reach a height of one meter in some parts of Japan. While there are no specific reports of any damage, but the strong earthquake has created a fearful atmosphere.
