Mumbai Police Bust Sex Racket in Hotel, Arrest Make-Up Artist; Two Actresses Rescued

MUMBAI: Mumbai Police have busted an alleged prostitution racket operating out of a luxury hotel in south Mumbai, rescuing two actresses and arresting a make-up artist accused of running the operation, officials said on Friday.

The action was carried out by the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) following a tip-off about the alleged illegal activities at the hotel in the Girgaon area.

According to officials, one of the rescued women is an actress associated with the Marathi film industry, while the other has appeared in cameo and supporting roles in Hindi and Bengali films. The make-up artist, alleged to be the key operator of the prostitution racket, was arrested during the raid.

Police are investigating the network to identify other persons involved and determine whether similar activities were being conducted elsewhere.
