3 Dead, 10 Injured After Tazia Procession Hits High-Tension Power Line in MP’s Ratlam
RATLAM (Madhya Pradesh): Three people were killed, and 10 others sustained injuries after a Tazia procession came in contact with a high-tension power line in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district late on Thursday night, officials said.
The incident occurred around 11:15 pm in Hatnara village under the Piploda police station limits during a Muharram procession. According to officials, the Tazia procession was passing through the village when it accidentally collided with the overhead high-tension electricity line, resulting in a powerful electric shock that caused multiple casualties.
Police and district administration officials reached the spot soon after the incident and launched relief and rescue operations. The area was secured, and the power supply was temporarily disconnected to prevent further mishaps.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident. Further details are awaited.
